Joseph A. Busch is the Founder and a Principal of Taxonomy Strategies. He guides global 2000 companies, government agencies, and NGO’s in developing metadata frameworks and taxonomy strategies. Mr. Busch is an authority in the field of information science, a Past President of the American Society for Information Science and Technology ( www.asist.org), and a member of the Board of Directors of the Dublin Core Metadata Initiative ( dublincore.org).

He was a principal of the start-up company Metacode that was sold to the content management company Interwoven in 2000. Prior to that, he was the Getty Trust Program Manager for standards and research projects (www.getty.edu/research/conducting_research/) including the Art & Architecture Thesaurus (AAT) and Thesaurus of Geographic Names (TGN).

Mr. Busch is a frequent speaker on metadata, taxonomy, indexing, classification research, information retrieval, and content management.

 

JuliAnn Blam has been an entertainment producer and project manager since the late 70’s, designing and building new concepts for Walt Disney, LucasFilm, SeaWorld, MGM, Hilton, Harrah’s, the Elvis Presley Estate, and numerous high profile clients.

For over a decade JuliAnn was a Disney Imagineer, developing new concepts for theme parks around the world. She project managed the production and construction of over $100 million of entertainment developments, and represented Disney in negotiations with key corporate sponsors and participants. JuliAnn also was Disney’s liaison to outside clients, including the Gene Autry Museum, the Johnson Space Center, and the City of Seattle. Additionally, JuliAnn managed the Creative Development division of Imagineering at Walt Disney World, a group of over 150 artists, designers, directors and producers, devoted to Disney’s Florida developments.

Previously, JuliAnn founded George Lucas’ LucasArts Attractions, a design group dedicated to offering outside clients the award winning services of LucasFilm’s designers, engineers, and special effects wizards. Among their clients were Matsushita, the City of New York, and the City of Las Vegas.

Currently, JuliAnn is COO of Studio U, an entertainment retail concept she developed on behalf of a private NYC investment syndicate. Studio U offers studio space and artisan assistance with projects that vary from Digital Arts to simple crafts, while enjoying food and beverages from their world gourmet café.

JuliAnn received a Bachelors in Music from the University of Oregon and pursued MBA studies in Finance at the NYU Stern School of Business.
