Sam Matson is 13 years old. He has been drawing since he was 1 1/2 years old and enjoys many different art mediums including: watercolor, acrylic, charcoal, cartooning, clay and print making. He had the privilege of participating in a book of children's art dedicated to the children who lost a loved one on September 11th in the World Trade Center attacks. He traveled to New York City with several other art students and his teacher to donate these books. He has also participated in several other projects using art to minister to hurting people. He won first place two years in a row in the Woodinville Art Show and won the first place People's Choice award last year.

Sam enjoys basketball, skiing and snowboarding. His favorite book is The Lord of the Rings and his favorite movie is The Fellowship of the Ring. When he grows up he hopes to become a professional artist.
